"message": "Our COUNTER report supplier recently discovered a bug in the code that is used to calculate usage data for Emerald Insight. \r\nThe issue was linked to COUNTER rules for double-click filtering and the result is that some usage activity has been filtered out and not counted. \r\nThis means that COUNTER 5 usage reports available through the Emerald Account Management Portal may not have represented the full extent of usage for your institution. \r\nFollowing consultation with our supplier and through our own investigations, we believe that between 12%-14% of overall usage has not been reported since the launch of the new Emerald Insight Platform in 2019. \r\n\r\nThe bug was successfully fixed, and so COUNTER usage reports were unaffected from the start of December 2021. \r\nUpdated reports for the whole of 2021 have been generated and are available for download via the Emerald Account Management Portal. \r\n \r\nWorking with our supplier, we are now processing historical usage reports from 2019 to 2020 to include previously excluded data. We aim to complete this early in 2022."
